2011. and welcome 2012 :)

Whoa dude! What the heck happened this past year?!?!?!?!?! CRAZINESS! :)

2011. This year has been a huge learning experience to say the least. As with anything there are going to be ups and downs and how you roll with the punches is a large determining factor in your happiness. At least mine :) I came into this year working for the same company, Zulily, but instead of retouching I am now shooting product photography as well as editorials here and there. Since starting at the company we have moved offices, the employee count has more than tripled, and the number of studios has multiplied by 6! They are growing out of control and the innovation is inspiring.. though I'm not going to lie it has been a bit of a struggle to go in 5 days a week ;) What else went on this year... hmm. Shot a few weddings, a couple events, some fashion stuff, music artists, a little film, went to the Bahamas, was in Santa Barbara for the first time since graduation(!), just was livin life and enjoying the company of my friends. I really can't complain. Life's good.

2012. I'm not sure really! We'll just have to see what happens. My plan is to shoot. Be happy. No more parking tickets. Love. Love love. And shoot.

I've been in a little bit of a rut.. I'll admit it, but I feel most of my problem was that I didn't have my camera on me. I forced myself to lug it around with me last weekend and I'm glad I did :) Football game, aquarium, Snoqualmie Falls for blackberries, and a mutha f*@kin boat. Life could be worse.

Eek! This year has flown by and honestly I can't tell you where it went. I'm sorry I've been neglecting my blog :( bloggy blog blog blog! Doesn't mean I haven't been busy taking pictures though :) Most of my time has been consumed with WORK. I full time job at a local studio taking product pictures. WORK. nine to five. work. I'll be sifting through my hard drive to dig out what the hell else I've been up to these last months but here is something recent.

I went on a cruise to the Bahamas (fancy i know) to photograph a wedding... though no wedding pictures will be posted... so you'll just have to believe me... and these are the photos that were created when I wasn't busy with the bride, napping in the sun, or eating copious amounts of food. Enjoy!

2010. in a nutshell. & 2011. in a optimistic nutshell.

Here we are again folks. Time to say hello to a brand spankin new year and bon voyage to the latest. 2010 was a pretty good year for me though it went by so bloody fast! I swear I was still making new years resolutions well into the second half of the year... but whatevs!

2010.
Phew. Where'd ya go?? What a whirl wind. Started out the year nannying for the same German families as I had in 2009. It ended in June and though it had been planned that way since I started it was still sad to say goodbye to Joelle and Luci. Love those girls still!! In between I was shooting tests, events, weddings, & music. I participated in a video shoot which is now being submitted to SIFF. Keep your fingers crossed! I had contracted out for Amazon shooting product video which was a nice change up from boring stills ;) I shot my first lookbook for an online boutique which was probably my favorite thing I did all year... love shooting all that girly stuff. Started contracting in Nov for a local startup company called Zulily.com doing retouching. They have a great team and the energy is off the walls.. people are so excited about it. If you don't know.. now you know. Zulily. I'm going to keep things truckin right along into 2011.. Peace out 2010! And thanks for everything :)

Here we are 2011!! Ready or not.
I'm planning for more fashion ventures and fine tuned techniques. I have the best time on my nature light tests with a talented team and more of those to beef up the portfolio would be lovely. It's really all about having fun. The less stressful your shoot is and the more you trust yourself and your abilities the better shoot you'll have. Trust me! Year end goal is to get published darnit! Hopefully more than once ;) Just keep shooting!!
